Rita Luz

Rita Luz graduated in Health and Clinical Psychology from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and started working as Clinical Psychologist with future parents and couples in the transition to parenthood at the Department of Women and Children’s Health, in a central hospital. In 2015, she had her PhD in Psychology awarded by the University of Lorraine (France), with a thesis entitled ‘L’adaptation psychologique du couple à la parentalité et au diagnostic prénatal d’une pathologie foetale, de la grossesse a la première année de vie de l’enfant’. She lectured courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in France and Portugal, and between 2019 and 2022 she was Researcher in the domain of Reproductive and Sexual Health and Education at the Faculty of Psychology – University of Lisbon (FPUL) and member of the local Research Center of Psychological Science.
She is the author of several articles in national and international publications and reviewer for international journals of health-related topics. In the present, she lectures courses at FPUL and, since February 2023, she works at the Collaborative Laboratory ProChild CoLAB against child poverty and social exclusion where she develops, implements and evaluates research projects in the Protection domain.
as a child, I want to be a
I wanted to be a dancer. And, as everything was possible, between rehearsals and performances I would also be a medical doctor. The dream only remained alive until my young teens, but dance is always with me.
hobbies
I play a lot with my son! We read, dance and travel together. I listen to him playing the trumpet while I try to understand the musical score. Whenever I need to stop, I knit (the best I can). I love to be in the nature, with my friends and with my Family.
