Marlene Sousa

Marlene Sousa holds a PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto and is a researcher at ProChild CoLAB, being the coordinator of Health and Well- Being axis. Marlene Sousa has collaborated, throughout her professional career, in several research projects in the field of mental health of children and adults. In recent years, Marlene Sousa has developed research in the area of e-Mental Health, collaborating on funded studies that aimed to test the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of Internet-based treatments in preventing and combating depression, anxiety and suicide risk. With several national and international communications, as well as scientific publications, Marlene Sousa joined ProChild CoLAB in December 2019, to conduct a work focused on the definition, development and implementation of projects aiming the promotion of physical and mental health of children from 0 at 10 years old and their families. Marlene Sousa is also a professor at the University of Maia – ISMAI, where she collaborates in the context of the Master in Clinical Psychology and Health. The fields of activity and research interests focus on the areas of development and mental health of children and young people, psychotherapy, and e -Mental Health.
