Margarida Fialho

With a master’s degree in Educational Psychology at Ispa, Margarida Fialho is currently a PhD student in Psychology at Iscte-IUL. Her PhD project is focused on children’s social and emotional development (social skills, social acceptance and emotional regulation) in the family context and in early childhood education context (FCT funding).

She took part in research projects in university institutions, in collaboration with the Direção Geral de Educação, as a PhD student and, more recently, with community entities (The Inventors, through the Academias Gulbenkian do Conhecimento), where she had the opportunity to contact to research and professional practice, particularly in early childhood education contexts. She also had the opportunity to collaborate in the Erasmus+ PARTICIPA project, which aims to create professional development tools to promote knowledge and positive attitudes towards children’s participation and to integrate the Erasmus+ BECERID project team, responsible for creating the blog PrimeirosAnos.pt, whose main objective is to create bridges between research and practice in early childhood education, with a particular focus on the themes of quality, inclusion, and diversity. At the same time, she had experiences in training educational agents, organizing scientific events, consulting and evaluating and monitoring an intervention program.

Teacher. As I grew up, the little girl’s dream was forgotten. However, the area of Education remained very present and I ended up graduating in Psychology, in the Educational area.

hobbies

Leader of a group of scouts (CNE). Travelling, which has proved to be a challenge with young daughters, but we persisted. Try vegetarian restaurants, so I can replicate the recipes in my kitchen. Being at the table, where the food becomes the conversation.
