Beatriz Vilela

Beatriz Vilela holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (2021) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Childhood and Adolescence from the University of Minho (2023).
During her Master’s degree, she developed her dissertation titled “Neural processing of emotions in the face: An electrophysiological study with residential care children victims of threat and/or deprivation” and integrated the Neonatology and Psychology Services of the São João University Hospital Center (CHUSJ) as an Intern Psychologist.
Simultaneously, she began her journey as a Research collaborator in various projects, both at the Psychology Research Centre – University of Minho (CIPsi) and at CHUSJ. Until the date, she has been collaborating more closely with CIPsi, where she currently integrates the Attachment and Parenthood Research Group.
Her research interests focus on early adversity (deprivation or disruption of parental care), deviant behavior, and developmental psychopathology. With a view to her fascination with child development, she has been accredited since 2023 in the Griffiths-III Scales of Child Development by the Association for Research in Infant and Child Development (ARICD).
In November 2023, she began her Professional Internship to access the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP) at ProChild CoLAB, in close collaboration with the Psychology Association – University of Minho (APsi – UMinho).
