Validation of Caregiver Reported Early Development Instruments (CREDI) for the Portuguese population

The assessment of child development is of paramount importance to design interventions tailored to the needs of each child. However, so far, few instruments assess the development of children up to 3 years old and those that do that mostly involve direct assessments, which makes their implementation difficult. The Caregiver Reported Early Development Instruments (CREDI) fill this gap, assessing children between 0 and 3 years of age.

The principal aim of this study is to analyze the psychometric characteristics and the general validity of CREDI instruments for the evaluation of the development of Portuguese children up to 3 years old in order to constitute a valid development analysis tool, both for research and for clinical practice.
